Personal Information We Collect
Section titled “Personal Information We Collect”Blockchain and wallet information
Section titled “Blockchain and wallet information”- Wallet addresses on Solana and on Robinhood Chain (Hood), including embedded wallets provisioned for you
- On-chain transaction history associated with those addresses — trades, token launches, staking, NFT mints, tips sent and received
- Wallet IQ scores and their full underlying breakdown, computed from public on-chain history and stored against your wallet address (see Wallet IQ and Automated Profiling)
- Believer NFT holdings and mint records on both chains
Wallet addresses are treated as personal information where they can be linked to you.
Account information
Section titled “Account information”- Username, biography, profile picture, and display colour
- Your Privy account identifier
- Whether you have completed onboarding, and your interface preferences (such as quick-buy amounts)
- Roles held on the platform, such as creator or administrator
Candle does not store your email address in its own database — email is held by Privy as part of your sign-in, and Candle accesses it through Privy.
Linked social accounts
Section titled “Linked social accounts”If you link a third-party account, we collect and store:
- Your handle or identifier on Discord, X, Twitch, YouTube, Telegram, or Kick
- Public statistics such as follower and subscriber counts
- Whether you are a member of the Candle Discord server
- OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens for linked Discord, X, Twitch, and YouTube accounts, so Candle can act on your behalf for the features you have connected
You can unlink an account at any time, which revokes the stored tokens for it.
Content you create
Section titled “Content you create”- Chat messages, including messages that have been removed by moderators (retained separately for moderation and abuse-handling)
- Livestreams, recorded broadcasts, video, thumbnails, and clips
- Stream titles, exclusive-segment markers, and stream session records
- Token metadata you supply when launching — name, symbol, image, banner, description, and links
- Streamer applications and their contents
- Files you upload
Automatically collected information
Section titled “Automatically collected information”- IP address, from which we derive approximate location (country or region level)
- Device and browser type and identifiers, operating system, and referring and exit pages
- Usage information across the Candle Services
- Viewer and unique-viewer records for streams
- Cookies and similar technologies — see the Cookie Notice
Information from other sources
Section titled “Information from other sources”We receive information from linked social platforms, from blockchain data and analytics providers, and from token data providers. Where we combine that information with information we collect directly, we treat the combination under this Policy.
How We Use Personal Information
Section titled “How We Use Personal Information”We use personal information to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Candle Services
- Create and administer your account, and authenticate you
- Execute, route, and verify blockchain transactions you initiate
- Compute Wallet IQ scores and determine Believer NFT eligibility
- Determine access to gated launches and gated stream segments
- Distribute staking rewards, airdrops, and giveaway entries
- Deliver, record, and moderate livestreams, video, and chat
- Communicate with you about the Candle Services, including service notices
- Provide security, and detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, market manipulation, and unauthorized activity
- Comply with legal obligations, including tax, anti-money-laundering, and sanctions requirements, and respond to lawful requests
- Understand usage trends and measure the effectiveness of our communications
We may send you promotional material about the Candle Services. You can opt out through your account settings or the unsubscribe link in any email. Push notifications can be turned off in your device or app settings.
Legal Bases for Processing
Section titled “Legal Bases for Processing”Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Providing the Candle Services under our Terms | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Executing and verifying transactions you initiate | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Wallet IQ scoring and NFT eligibility | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — operating a merit-based launchpad; and performance of a contract where you request a score |
| Security, fraud prevention, and abuse detection | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Moderation of content and chat | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Analytics and product improvement | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Marketing communications | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), or legitimate interests where permitted |
| Non-essential cookies and similar technologies | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) |
| Legal, tax, AML, and sanctions compliance | Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, Candle must document the relevant purpose, necessity, and balancing assessment. You may object to that processing — see Data Subject Rights.
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.
Wallet IQ and Automated Profiling
Section titled “Wallet IQ and Automated Profiling”What it does. Wallet IQ analyses the public on-chain transaction history of a wallet address and produces a Believer Score (0–200), a Wallet IQ figure (55–145), a tier, and a detailed breakdown of the factors and penalties that produced the result. We store this against the wallet address, together with mint status and NFT traits.
What it decides. Your score determines:
- whether you are eligible to mint a Believer NFT free of charge, which discounts platform trade fees to 0.5% versus 1% Free; and
- whether you can buy into exclusive bonding curve launches, and view exclusive stream segments.
How it is used. Scoring runs automatically. Scores may be displayed on public leaderboards keyed to wallet addresses.
Your rights. You can ask us for an explanation of how a result was reached, ask us to review a score, contest a result, or ask that we delete a score we hold. Where you are in a jurisdiction granting rights in relation to automated decision-making, you may request human review. Contact privacy@candle.tv.
What we do not do. Wallet IQ is not used to make decisions about credit, employment, housing, insurance, or any other matter outside access to features of the Candle Services. It is not a credit score, and it is not shared with credit reference agencies.
When We Disclose Personal Information
Section titled “When We Disclose Personal Information”We do not sell your personal information for money.
We disclose personal information:
- To service providers and subprocessors who perform functions on our behalf, under contract, and only for the purposes we specify — see the list below.
- Publicly, by design. Wallet addresses, usernames, profile information, chat messages, streams, clips, Wallet IQ scores where displayed on leaderboards, token launches, and tips are visible to other users and, in most cases, to the public internet.
- On public blockchains. Transactions you initiate are broadcast to public networks and are permanently visible.
- To comply with law, including responding to a court order, subpoena, warrant, or other lawful request, and to meet tax, AML, and sanctions obligations. See our Law Enforcement Guidelines.
- To protect Candle and others, including to investigate and defend claims, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect the rights, property, or safety of Candle, our users, or the public.
- In a corporate transaction — see Merger or Sale.
Other than as described here, you will receive notice and an opportunity to choose before we share your personal information with third parties.
Service Providers and Subprocessors
Section titled “Service Providers and Subprocessors”The current list of subprocessors, with the category of data each receives and where it is located, is maintained at Subprocessors.
In summary, we rely on providers for authentication and wallet infrastructure, database and hosting, live video and file storage, blockchain RPC and transaction parsing, market data, transaction routing and bridging, and analytics.
Blockchain Data and the Limits of Deletion
Section titled “Blockchain Data and the Limits of Deletion”Blockchains are public, distributed, and append-only. Candle does not operate them and cannot alter them.
This has consequences you should understand before you transact:
- We cannot delete, amend, or hide on-chain data. Transactions, token launches, NFT mints, staking actions, and tips are permanent public records.
- We cannot make a wallet address unlinkable from activity already recorded on-chain.
- Deleting your Candle account does not remove on-chain activity, and does not remove your wallet address from public block explorers or third-party analytics services.
- Third parties independently index blockchain data. Even where we delete our own records, copies may persist elsewhere entirely outside our control.
Where you exercise a right to erasure, we will delete the personal information we hold in our own systems in accordance with that right, and will explain what we cannot reach and why.
Data Subject Rights and Your Choices
Section titled “Data Subject Rights and Your Choices”Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access, or obtain a copy of, personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date
- Delete personal information we hold about you
- Restrict or object to processing, including profiling and direct marketing
- Receive your information in a portable format, and have it transmitted to another controller
- Withdraw consent you previously gave
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights
How to exercise them. Email privacy@candle.tv with your request and enough information for us to identify your account — the wallet address or username associated with it. We may take steps to verify your identity before acting, including asking you to sign a message from the wallet in question.
We respond within the period required by applicable law. Where a law permits an extension for a complex request, we may use it and will provide the required notice.
We may need to continue processing certain information to meet a legal obligation or where we have compelling legitimate grounds. Where we cannot fully honour a request, we tell you why.
Appeals. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response with the word “appeal” and your reasons. We will review and respond.
Complaints. If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. You may also seek a remedy through local courts.
Account Closure and Deletion
Section titled “Account Closure and Deletion”To close your Candle account and delete your profile information, email privacy@candle.tv from the address associated with your account, or contact us through the Candle Discord and ask for the Privacy category. We may ask you to verify control of your wallet.
On closure we delete the personal information in our systems that we are not required or permitted to retain by law, subject to the limits described in Blockchain Data and the Limits of Deletion.
Deleting your Candle account does not delete your wallets. Embedded wallets are held with Privy under your sign-in; assets in them remain yours. To delete your Privy account and its wallets, follow Privy’s own process — and move any assets out first, because losing access to a wallet means losing what is in it.
Cookies and Tracking
Section titled “Cookies and Tracking”Cookies and similar technologies used on the Candle Services, and how to control them, are described in the Cookie Notice.
Advertisers and Analytics Providers
Section titled “Advertisers and Analytics Providers”We use analytics to understand how the Candle Services are used. Our current analytics provider is described in Subprocessors.
Candle does not currently use third-party advertising technology to sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or process it for targeted advertising. If that practice changes, we will update this Policy before the change takes effect and provide the opt-out mechanisms required by applicable law.
Do Not Track
Section titled “Do Not Track”Because Candle does not currently sell personal information or use cross-context behavioral advertising, a GPC signal does not change current processing. Before introducing a practice subject to a browser-based opt-out, Candle must implement and test recognition of legally required preference signals, including GPC where applicable.
We do not currently respond to browser-initiated Do Not Track (DNT) signals, which lack a common standard.
Data Security
Section titled “Data Security”We use managerial, technical, and physical measures to protect your information, varying with its sensitivity. These include encryption in transit, access controls, and segregation of secrets and signing keys.
No system is completely secure. We cannot warrant the security of information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk.
To report a vulnerability, see our Vulnerability Disclosure Policy.
Retention of Your Information
Section titled “Retention of Your Information”| Category | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account and profile information | While the account is open, then for the period reasonably needed to complete deletion, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations |
| OAuth access and refresh tokens | Until the linked account is disconnected, the Candle account is closed, or the token is otherwise revoked or expires |
| Wallet IQ scores | While needed to provide scoring and related features, subject to valid deletion requests and legal exceptions |
| Chat messages | While needed to provide and moderate the service; removed messages may be retained for safety, abuse handling, and disputes |
| Streams, recordings, and clips | While published and for a reasonable backup, moderation, dispute, and legal-retention period after removal |
| Transaction and tip records held by Candle | For accounting, security, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and applicable legal obligations |
| Analytics and log data | For a period proportionate to security and product-analysis needs |
| On-chain data | Permanent and outside our control |
Where a longer period is required by law, we retain for that period.
Children’s Privacy
Section titled “Children’s Privacy”If you are under 13 years of age, you may not use or access the Candle Services at any time or in any manner.
Candle does not knowingly collect or maintain personal information from persons under 13. If we learn that we have, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
The Candle Platform — trading, launching, staking, minting, and tipping — is restricted to persons aged 18 or over. See section 2 of the Terms of Service.
If you are the parent or legal guardian of a child under 13 who has created an account, contact privacy@candle.tv to have the account terminated and the information deleted.
For jurisdictions where processing is based on consent, we do not knowingly process personal information of users below the applicable age of consent.
Merger or Sale
Section titled “Merger or Sale”If Candle, or assets related to the Candle Services, are acquired by or merged with a third party, or in connection with a contemplated change-of-ownership transaction, we may transfer the information we have collected as part of that transaction, including during diligence. We will require the recipient to honour this Policy or give you notice of any material change.
International Data Transfers
Section titled “International Data Transfers”Candle is based in the United States, and information we collect is processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate.
Where we transfer personal information out of the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we use the transfer mechanism actually applicable to the recipient and transfer, which may include:
- the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum where applicable; or
- an adequacy decision covering the destination country; or
- another lawful transfer mechanism.
You may request information about the safeguards applicable to a transfer by emailing privacy@candle.tv. Candle must verify that the stated mechanism is executed and effective for each relevant provider before relying on it.
Changes to This Policy
Section titled “Changes to This Policy”We may change this Policy at any time, for example to reflect changes to the Candle Services or in the law. We will update the “Last Updated” date, and will give prominent notice of material changes.
We will not make changes that are materially less protective of personal information collected under a prior version without the consent of affected individuals.

Language
Section titled “Language”This Policy is written and published in English, and the English version is the authoritative one. Translations are published for convenience and are not warranted to be accurate or complete; where a translation differs in meaning from the English, the English version is the one that describes what Candle actually does with your information.
This does not displace any right you have under a law that requires a privacy notice to be given to you in a particular language. If a translation of this Policy is unclear to you, write to privacy@candle.tv and we will answer in English or in the language of the translation, as you prefer.
